German Manufacturer of Flexible Couplings and Sleeve Spring Dampers to Streamline Processes for Conducting Business Between Customers, Suppliers and Subsidiaries

BRACKNELL, UK, (March 13, 2002) - Blue Martini Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLUE) today announced that Vulkan-Group, the leading global manufacturer of flexible couplings and sleeve spring dampers used in marine, industrial and off-road applications, has selected Blue Martini Manufacturing for its business-to-business portals. The new portals will enable Vulkan-Group to cut costs and streamline processes for conducting business globally between its customers, suppliers and subsidiary companies. Genuity Professional Services (formerly Integra) will be providing implementation services.

Vulkan-Group has a wide range of customers across multiple industries around the globe, as well as a complex product catalogue. Its products are used in multiple applications, including ship and boat propulsion, power take-off and auxiliary systems, generator drives, drives for rail vehicles, and drives for industrial applications. The Vulkan-Group business-to-business portals will allow manufacturers to request quotes, manage their contracts and buy products online, as well as offer sales promotions capabilities, product and marketing information. With Blue Martini Manufacturing, Vulkan-Group will be able to provide targeted product catalogues to its customers, tailored to industry, contract and role, fully integrated with Baan and JD Edwards.

Vulkan-Group also wanted to improve the flow of information between its subsidiary organisations, and in turn to its customers, by leveraging Blue Martini Software's easy-to-use content and catalogue management capabilities. Vulkan-Group employees, across subsidiary, will be able to quickly and easily update product information on the portals. Vulkan-Group will also enable its suppliers, who provide it with raw materials, to have visibility into the sales-demand for its products to ensure timely product delivery. Suppliers will be able to add comments about purchase orders, and see everything from status of payables to inventory and commodity management.
