A survey published by Alliance & Leicester Business Banking today shows that small firms are computer-literate – 71% of them have a PC for the business and 84% of those that do have access to the internet through it.

However, only a minority (3%) of the owners these businesses list surfing the web and e-mailing as a key leisure activity. According to the study, which looks generally at how the people behind small and medium-sized enterprises choose to relax, you are far more likely to catch them down the gym or playing sport (25%), or engaging in country pursuits such as walking and fishing (24%).
