Travel InfoSystems Gives Companies the Solution to Help Customers and Employees Avoid London’s Congestion Hell
Travel InfoSystems, the travel planning software specialists, today announced that its popular London journey planner, TubePlanner, is now available as a browser based solution for corporate intranets and Internet sites. With the ever worsening road traffic and now the suggested congestion charge, the software gives companies an ideal solution to help customers and employees plan journeys to and from their offices and around the capital using the Tube Network.
A customisable product, TubePlanner Web, enables companies to guide customers directly to any number of London locations, including both their own, and partner company offices, and even favoured hotels, restaurants and other attractions. TubePlanner can not only be used to provide detailed maps and directions from the Tube to these locations, it also enables them to direct a customer to these locations regardless of whether they are starting at Waterloo, Heathrow or indeed any London street.
Multiple versions of TubePlanner Web are available to suit customer needs. The software is available in two options. The first option has a street gazetteer, which provides a list of streets containing the specified street name and the nearest Tube station when planning a journey. The second option provides full address management functionality provided by Capscan, a leading UK addressing company, to allow easy address, station or place location. This allows the user to enter a postcode or partial address and the software will calculate the nearest station.
Terry Hiles, Managing Director of Travel InfoSystems comments, “TubePlanner Web has been developed in response to the demand from London based companies and organisations, for a Internet or intranet journey planner. It’s the next logical step in giving customers the location of shop or offices. Not only can you show people where you are, but you can tell them how to get there!”
The new and improved features of TubePlanner Web are:
· ‘Smart Search’ facility that allows the user to enter a street, station or famous landmark as departure or destination points with over 50,000 streets and 250 famous landmarks
· Station location facility, which allows the user to identify the nearest station by just entering a postcode or partial address
· On-screen itinerary with estimated overall journey time, fare prices, the number of changes en-route and the journey time between calling points
· A fully zoomable London Underground map displaying the recommended route and the complete network
· Interactive street mapping showing your arrival or destination point and the nearest station
· Facility to promote nearest outlets or offices
· Optional modules provided on a bespoke basis
