New-to-Europe Web security vendor KaVaDo today delivers a powerful Internet security dividend for users of Check Point Software Technologies’ market-leading
The move follows Check Point OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) certification of KaVaDo’s Web application protection solution InterDo. Seamless integration between the two products provides a consolidated security solution with application and network security working together to protect corporate IT assets.
“Effective security for Web-enabled enterprises demands a balance of network, host and application protection,” says head of KaVaDo Europe Terry Schoen. “Check Point is a leader in network level security while KaVaDo protects the application layer. Through this integration we can now provide our mutual customers with the enhanced, comprehensive security solutions required in today's security landscape.”
InterDo guards individual Web applications against multiple attacks ranging from cookie poisoning and database sabotage through to protocol piggybacking and stealth commanding. Integration with Check Point FireWall-1 allows InterDo to request the blocking of offending remote IP addresses via OPSEC interfaces. When InterDo identifies remote clients generating suspicious activity on the application or server system, those remote client addresses will be communicated to the Check Point enforcement points to terminate sessions or deny access. Actions then taken by the firewall can include terminating a current session in progress or blocking new session attempts that match the criteria over a specified time period in the future.
“We are pleased to see KaVaDo achieve OPSEC certification for its Web application protection product,” said Upesh Patel, manager, OPSEC Alliance. “The integration of KaVaDo's InterDo with Check Point NG provides a unique solution that can dynamically reconfigure the security policy based on suspicious activity at the application layer.”
InterDo gives Check Point customers the most advanced Web application protection available. InterDo uses business logic to determine how Web applications are legitimately used within an enterprise then extends customised and robust protection to each application individually.
KaVaDo also produces a complementary Web application vulnerability scanner, ScanDo. With the information from ScanDo, InterDo can quickly be configured to address the vulnerabilities discovered.
