Aristoteles Kabarganos joins Eontec management team

Dublin, 09 April 2002 – Eontec announces the appointment of Aristoteles Kabarganos as general manager for Central Europe. Heading up sales, marketing and partner activity in Central Europe, Kabarganos will be responsible for building awareness and driving Eontec’s development across the region.

Kabarganos brings a wealth of experience to Eontec, having worked with some of the world’s leading technology companies and alongside major financial organisations across Europe. His strong technical background combined with his understanding of the business application of technologies has led him to be instrumental in the roll-out of major IT and strategic business development projects. Most recently, as senior VP for BT’s global mobile internet division, Genie Internet Ltd, Kabarganos established the company’s presence in Germany, and was responsible for the development of sales and marketing operations in the region.

Kabarganos comments: “The financial services market is experiencing a period of consolidation as a result of a number of key mergers and acquisitions. Many top tier banks in the region are looking to re-engineer their applications in order to expand their scope of products and services, effectively cross-sell to an expanded customer base, reduce overheads and, ultimately, increase profitability.

“Component-based technology is widely embraced as the answer for cost-effective, rapidly deployable, flexible systems that are easily integrated across the enterprise. With proven, sophisticated technology, the experience and development know-how of its people, Eontec is well-placed to help banks capitalise on these new market opportunities.”

Kabarganos has also held senior roles at Globeset Inc., a US provider of secure payment infrastructure solutions and Brokat AG, a global banking software provider. In both roles he developed an impressive client list, including Barclays, HSBC, ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, UBS and Dresdner Bank.

Patrick Brazel, executive chairman, Eontec, comments: “Aristoteles’ extensive knowledge and expertise within Central Europe will be invaluable as we expand further across the region. There is a clear market for Eontec’s component-based technology and ‘buy and build’ approach, offering banks the most timely and cost-effective solution to streamline their operations and react more effectively in this rapidly evolving marketplace.”
