April 8th 2002 (DS0127) ~ Developer Solutions, the application development
specialist, is now shipping LEADTOOLS Image Server™. The LEADTOOLS Image
Server is an imaging ISAPI extension for IIS (Internet Information Server) 4
and above which allows web administrators and developers to support the
format conversion and image processing of over 100 different image formats
for display in standard web browsers.

In addition, the LEADTOOLS Image Server supports more than 54 image
processing routines, which allow for easy image cleanup and manipulation.
Both image conversion and processing occur on the server so web clients are
not required to download additional software (i.e. cab files, Activex
controls, scripts, etc.) to take full advantage of the LEADTOOLS Image
Server functionality. The LEADTOOLS Image Server can return an image wrapped
in HTML or just the image data, depending upon the needs of the
administrator or client. Available now from Developer Solutions and its
resellers with an RRP price of £5249 + VAT.

A few of the more than 100 supported file formats include:

JPEG2000

BMP Formats

Dr. Halo (CUT)

Exif Formats (TIFF and JPG)

Interchange File Formats (IFF)

JBIG Format (JBG)

GIF

TIFF

Encapsulated PostScript (EPS)

A few of the more than 50 image processing functions include:

AntiAlias - Applies a smoothing and blending filter to the specified image.
Helps to smooth jagged lines.

Contrast - Increases or decreases the contrast of the image.

Deskew - Typically is used to automatically straighten scanned images by
automatically rotating the image.

Despeckle - Removes speckles from an image. Typically, this command is used
to clean up scanned images (such as FAX images).

HistoEqualize - Linearizes the number of pixels per gray level in an image.

UnsharpMask - Sharpens the specified image.

Grayscale - Converts a 1-, 4-, 8-, 16-, 24-, or 32-bit image to an 8-bit,
12-bit, or 16-bit grayscale image.
