Usborne Books chooses SiMBA software to drive its new
Pan European direct sales division


FourFront, independent supplier of business and accounting software, today announced the implementation of its Compensation Plan, Order Processing and Genealogy software by Usborne Books at Home, a division of the multiple award-winning world-wide children’s publishing company.


Usborne Books at Home organises the distribution of Usborne books via a network of direct sales people throughout Europe using MLM (multi level marketing). By installing FourFront’s SiMBA software package, valuable sales information can now be accessed via the Internet, by-passing the call centre, saving both time and money. This allows sales people, whose remuneration is based purely on commission, to monitor the performance of their sales network.


The calculation of commissions can be a highly complex area, and sales people need to make regular telephone calls to gain information regarding their own performance and that of their network, in order to manage their business and maximise their earning potential. Also the presentation of a network structure, termed genealogy, is ideally suited to mouse navigation rather than printouts. These problems have now been negated by using the SiMBA software that provides much of the information that the sales force needs via a secure web interface, using standard intuitive browser screens, providing a more efficient alternative to requesting information via fax, post or through a call centre, and without the need for extensive training.
