-- At-a-Glance Management of an entire IT Business environment --

Welwyn Garden City, Herts. 17th April 2002 — Heroix Corporation, a leader in Business automated infrastructure management software, today announced the release of its newest product - Heroix TotalView, which offers a completely new view of infrastructure problem management – by business process rather than by physical entity.

Analyst Quotation

"Companies are constantly seeking a higher level business view of their IT infrastructure," Said Martin Rosenberg, an analyst with Meta Group. "Leading tools will allow companies to evaluate and manage their IT environment in line with the needs of the business."

This brand new Service Level Management solution allows users to instantly see the state of their computer delivered “business services”, by linking problems with IT objects to business objects (like web services, accounts, e-mail). When a problem occurs within an IT environment - either with hardware, operating software/applications or networks - there's a need to know what business processes are affected. This ensures that a user will be able to see the state of compliance at a glance and also be able to assess the necessary steps needed to ensure compliancy

Features –

· At-a-glance management of IT together with a sophisticated drill down approach to finding the exact cause of any problem.

· The ability to create a view that gives a level of detail needed in order to understand the health of your business and the underlying IT infrastructure.

· A familiar Windows ‘Explorer’ style tree view allows a user to easily see which components belong to which business processes and where the problems are.

· Ideal for use by senior IT management down to operational teams, Heroix TotalView gives a level of resolution needed to be able to manage a user's IT more effectively and efficiently.

· If SLAs are in place you will be able to see the state of compliance at a glance and also be able to assess the necessary steps needed to ensure you remain compliant.

· By creating synthetic events and applying them to Heroix TotalView, a comprehensive Risk Analysis can be carried out on the physical objects to detect the weakest links in the IT infrastructure.

Fault Management solutions, like Heroix eQ, RoboMon, RoboCentral and RoboER+, look for problems on applications, systems and networks that could potentially lead to unavailability of key components of the IT Infrastructure. Where possible, automated fixes are applied to prevent the problems having an impact, but there are times when human intervention is required and in these cases an event is generated.

These events are sent to operators and/or management staff to deal with, but the impact on the business is not always known. For example the loss of a particular network connection, or the filling of a certain disk could lead to the complete failure of the company’s accounting system. Previously this would only be known by someone being able to link the event to the business process(es) affected using personal knowledge, but now with Heroix TotalView this can be done automatically.

Business Benefits –

Heroix TotalView allows a user to define the components of their business processes and then when events occur it is immediately clear which processes are affected. This way they are able to tell at a glance what is happening within their business and what the priorities are for problem resolution.

This is ideal for at-a-glance management of the IT together with a sophisticated drill down approach to finding the exact cause.

Customer Quote - Dave West, - Comax.

"The TotalView monitor, with a brilliantly simple switch of focus, presents an interface for the business community whilst retaining an object based view if required. The ability to visually present objects, which can represent business procedures/processes whilst retaining their dependence on hardware/software offspring objects, allows the business objects to portray a level of health without being buried in the background noise of their dependants. High level objects automatically 'inherit' the highest severity of problems in their children whilst, in contrast, the children are able to impose successively more filtering of events so that the use may 'drill down' into ever more specific detail."
