Docucorp, a leading provider of enterprise information software, has announced that Halifax Cetelem Credit has implemented a completely automated, external communication system based on Docucorp's Transall and Docuflex finance and banking software. The new system will enable Halifax Cetelem to cost-effectively deliver customised client letters, contracts and retailer statements to its 35,000 customers. Initial estimates place cost savings and added profit generated by the system at close to £80,000 per year.

Docucorp's software replaces a labour-intensive system that was quickly overloaded by the volume of documents generated by Halifax Cetelem's rapid growth. Docucorp's Transall replaces the custom programming required by the old system with automatic data manipulation and preparation tools, while DocuFlex enables the rapid generation and amendment of master letters, statements and contracts. Future plans may include other Docucorp software to provide enterprise-wide archive and retrieval for all Halifax Cetelem produced documents, as well as managing incoming customer communications.

"Halifax Cetelem is a fast growing, company, and it relies on technology to power its innovative approach to retail finance," said Tracey Robinson, VP- Managing Director, Docucorp Europe.

Halifax Cetelem, formed in 1999, is the leading provider of flexible, creative finance solutions that help UK retailers maximize sales growth. It was developed as a joint venture between Halifax PLC, the UK's largest mortgage provider, and Cetelem of France, Europe's leading retail finance house. Halifax Cetelem's growth so far has greatly outstripped expectations and has been driven by unique relationship-focused innovations in a highly competitive market place.

"Docucorp has provided a flexible, efficient and easy-to-use solution that will significantly improve customer communications and greatly reduce internal dependencies on IT resources," said Gillian Clark, Head of Information Technology for Halifax Cetelem. "With tools to quickly read, translate and prepare mainframe data for output without custom programming interfaces, Docucorp's system will reduce our operating costs, enhance our flexibility to meet changing business requirements, and enable faster delivery of customized communications."
