Prima Solutions supports clothing and footwear industry shift towards local design and global manufacture with
Progress® OpenEdge™ eBusiness technology.

Prima Solutions, an established Progress independent software vendor (ISV) specialising in the clothing and
footwear sector, has invested heavily in the development of PrimaNet®, its supply chain and order fulfilment

Using the Progress OpenEdge™ eBusiness platform for building applications and Progress WebClient deployment
technology, PrimaNet enables clothing and footwear businesses - contract and branded - to exchange
content-rich product and order information, such as garment specifications, contract and delivery details,
stock movement and product and component availability, with their global manufacturing partners via the
internet. It also delivers the familiar graphical user interface functionality of a Windows desktop on a Local
Area Network (LAN) or over an intranet, extranet or the internet.

Prima Solutions started developing the new generation of PrimaNet applications in response to a business shift
in the clothing and footwear industry.

“Branded and contract suppliers need a supply chain system that delivers the rich functionality required to
share product and order information across the world,” explains John Norman, joint managing director at Prima
Solutions. “Many of our UK customers have moved away from manufacturing and are focusing on the design and
product development processes, sourcing the components and finished goods from more cost effective operations
abroad. Effective communication with company colleagues, retailers, suppliers and agents is the key ingredient
for success.”

PrimaNet brings the administration and control of the entire order fulfilment process into one central point.
It is a fully integrated, comprehensive solution that gives a solid foundation for managing orders and stock
consistently and efficiently, whilst minimising costs.

“We have established our position within the clothing and footwear industry by listening to our customers and
working in partnership with them to deliver high quality, comprehensive, responsive solutions proven to work
in a wide range of differing business operations. In developing PrimaNet it was vital that we maintained this
position – and the reaction from our customers suggests we have.”

John concludes: “We have a number of old customers now using this new generation solution and the feedback has
been fantastic. We have been winning new customers at the rate of more than one per month since launching this
product in February 2001, and we expect to announce more new deals very soon. With this release of PrimaNet
our customers have taken control of their global supply chain without getting up from their desks!”

As one customer puts it “I am pleased to say that the system and the service from Prima Solutions, just like
their references has been excellent. I cannot put into financial terms how much we have benefited. We are far
more efficient and the system has had a significant influence in the way we do things.”
