Cambridge, UK – 29/04/2002 Kaspersky Labs, an international data-security software vendor has announced the integration of the Kaspersky (TM) Anti-Virus engine into the Aladdin Knowledge Systems' eSafe (TM) Internet security solution, offering organisations an additional layer of anti-virus protection.

Providing an additional level of anti-virus protection within Aladdin's eSafe, the Kaspersky Labs' anti-virus module reinforces eSafe's existing ICSA-certified anti-virus security solution. Users may now choose to add the Kaspersky signature tables to eSafe, allowing eSafe to automatically receive updated anti-virus signatures from Aladdin's Content Security Response Team as well as from Kaspersky Labs.

The Aladdin-Kaspersky partnership brings together eSafe's award-winning proactive technology with Kaspersky Anti-Virus, one of the most respected virus protection suites. eSafe customers now have the option to purchase two-tier virus protection and two-tier support.

"Anti-virus technology always benefits from multiple points of protection," said Shimon Gruper, Aladdin's Vice President of Internet Technologies. "The new Aladdin-Kaspersky partnership allows Aladdin to offer its customers an additional source of protection that compliments eSafe's already powerful anti-virus and anti-vandal security solution. By giving eSafe users this additional module option, Aladdin is providing further peace of mind by having the equivalent of two anti-virus providers in one solution."

"We are very pleased to provide eSafe customers with a Kaspersky Anti-Virus engine that will significantly increase overall virus protection," said Vsevolod Ivanov, Kaspersky Labs Marketing and Sales Director. "Our integrated technologies are ranked among the world's leading anti-virus solutions, a status underscoring the technical superiority of Kaspersky Labs products and their ability to provide users with full-scale protection from viruses of all types."

Aladdin's eSafe product suite, which includes eSafe Gateway and eSafe Mail, provides the most comprehensive protection available against hostile elements on the Internet and gives users confidence in their ability to navigate the Internet safely. eSafe is the only comprehensive suite of content security solutions on the market to provide proactive protection at the gateway against all forms of malicious content including viruses, vandals and worms. Much more than anti-virus protection, eSafe also stops access to Web sites with inappropriate or malicious content, such as hate literature or pornography as well as restricts outgoing emails from sending classified or prohibited content.

Unique features found only in Aladdin's eSafe solutions include:

NitroInspectio (TM) technology for efficient on-the-fly content inspection

MacroTerminator(TM) technology for protection against new and unknown macro viruses

GhostMachine (TM) technology for protection against encrypted, mutating and polymorphic viruses

SmartScript (TM) filtering technology for protection against malicious scripts embedded in emails or
Web pages

Kaspersky™ Anti-Virus covers all reliable methods of virus protection: anti-virus scanners, resident "on-the-fly" virus interceptors, integrity checkers, and behaviour blockers. Kaspersky Anti-Virus supports all of the most popular operating systems and applications. It provides strong anti-virus defence for e-mail gateways (MS Exchange Server, Lotus Notes/Domino, Sendmail, Qmail, Postfix and Exim), firewalls and WEB servers. Kaspersky Anti-Virus relies on its database of over 60,000 known viruses and malicious codes. The product is also powered by unique technology combating even future threats: the built-in heuristic code analyser that is able to detect up to 92% of unknown viruses, and the world's only behaviour blocker for Microsoft Office 2000 that provides 100%-guaranteed protection against any macro-virus.
