new production inkjet, T3016IGF, provides on-demand barcoding

Tally Ltd, the computer printer specialist, today increased its offering to application-specific printing with the launch of the industrial graphics version of its successful production inkjet printer, also known as the 'Sprintjet.' The new T3016IGF (Industrial Graphics Functions) complements the APACS accredited T3016 and the spot colour version, T3016c, and furthers Tally's commitment to secure computer printing applications in environments that require reliability, longevity, low running costs and the ability to print on a variety of media. Such environments have traditionally been the domain of line matrix printers. However, the T3016IGF is particularly well suited to barcoding applications, where there is a requirement for quick and easy on-demand printing, and typically costs just 0.24p per page.

The T3016IGF supports all Industrial Graphics functions, including barcodes, large characters, boxes, lines, and logos. It is capable of printing 60,000 pages per month. As a production inkjet, it produces consistent, high-quality output. The T3016IGF is probably the only ink jet printer capable of printing industrial graphics, as it has been developed with a line printer suite of emulations, including QMS code V and PGL. It is specifically designed for the legacy systems, which utilize these popular emulations.

Tally's Managing Director, Robin Edwardes, says, "Having launched the first line printer in the early seventies, we understand this market and its applications inside-out. Sectors such as retail, warehousing and manufacturing have strong demand for barcoding printing technology. Many customers use legacy systems, and the T3016IGF will plug and play to deliver consistent barcode quality on time, every time."

He continues, "Line printers are particularly good for batch-printing and will continue to thrive here. However, more and more applications require on-demand printing, where the user can access individual barcodes labels quickly. The T3016IGF was designed with this in mind, and unlike line printers, it has tear bars that enable labels to be removed quickly and effectively without wasting forms. The T3016 IGF is also well suited to batch processing of labels. For applications that demand consistent quality with low cost, the production non-impact printer presents a great offering."
