Hitachi selects Concur’s market-leading T&E expense management solution

London May 2002– Concur Technologies, Inc (NASDAQ: CNQR), the leading provider Corporate Expense Management solutions, today announced that it has added technology leader Hitachi Europe Ltd. to its rapidly expanding portfolio of blue-chip customers subscribing to the license model of Concur Expense ™.

Hitachi employees will soon benefit from automated travel and entertainment (T&E) expense reporting. Concur Expense will be rolled out to the UK initially, followed later by France, Italy and Germany.

Concur Expense will allow Hitachi users to submit and review their expenses on-line from wherever they are in the world. This will eliminate the paperwork and reduce the cost overheads usually associated with expense reporting and will also speed up reimbursement times.

Paul Moroney, European Business Solutions Manager, Information Technology Group, Hitachi Europe commented: “The fact that Concur Expense is aligned with local European legislation is a key factor for us, as we have a strong presence in Germany in particular. Other features of the licensed model that attracted us were a rapid response speed and the fact that is customisable. We expect to achieve ROI quite quickly.”

Hitachi Europe Ltd., founded in 1982, employs 650 people at 17 strategic locations throughout Europe. In fiscal year 2000, it achieved net sales of more than £1000 million. The Concur solution ties in with company policy of ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiency throughout its financial and IT processes.

Simon Nelson, general manager and vice president of Concur EMEA commented: “EMEA companies are very forward thinking when planning their IT strategies, while they are looking for solutions that bring high return at low cost and low risk. Hitachi Europe Ltd. is adopting a solution which matches the company’s needs, makes expense management less costly and frees up the time and energy of its staff to concentrate on core work.”
