Journey Planning Software Provider to Demonstrate Integrated Travel Planning Solution

Travel InfoSystems, the travel planning software specialists, will be demonstrating its fully integrated travel planning solutions at Interchange 2002, London, 21 – 22 May. On show for the first time will be the new CityPlanner, its flagship multi-modal journey planning solution, which was recently selected as the preferred journey planner solution by CENTRO on behalf of WMTIS for the PTI2000 initiative. The new travel planning solutions further expand Travel InfoSystems’ capability to provide multi-channel and multi-modal systems. Travel InfoSystems will also be demonstrating its popular TubePlanner Web and RailPlanner Web products, and as well as its top-selling RailPlanner.

Terry Hiles, Managing Director of Travel InfoSystems explains, “Interchange 2002 is the integrated transport event of the year, and so will attract thousands of transport managers from all over the country. Like us they understand the desperate need for integrated travel planning solutions. Our roads are becoming increasingly congested, so we must reduce people’s reliance on the car and encourage the use of public transport. Effective travel information - allowing the traveller to find out details of available services and timetable information and then re-plan their journey, taking into consideration delays and cancellations – is a key element in changing user attitudes and behaviour.”

CityPlanner is a continuation of Travel InfoSystems’ success with its RailPlanner and TubePlanner products. A true multi-modal facility, CityPlanner, allows organisations to take advantage of plug-in data sets for different transport modes. Transport modes can include Bus, Tube, Tram and Rail - in fact any transport type - with the software producing an accurate route and optimum journey times using the best combination of these modes. The software provides viable alternative routes, and can even link to appropriate street maps that show your nearest station or place of interest. Highly flexible, CityPlanner offers configurable page layout allowing organisations to customise the product with the look and feel they desire.

TubePlanner Web is the browser-based version of the popular PC-based TubePlanner a frequency-based journey planner, which is currently used by London Underground's website,, amongst others, and enables users to plan their journeys around London by entering street names, postcodes or buildings for start points and destinations. RailPlanner Web is the browser-based version of Travel InfoSystems’ best-selling RailPlanner software. Ideally suited to large networks, it’s an indispensable source of travel information, allowing users to plan their journeys on the national rail network. Travel InfoSystems' Web journey planner products is currently used by a number of leading companies and public sector organisations including, London Borough of Brent, Wandsworth Council and Croydon Council.

Travel InfoSystems will also be giving away FREE copies of TubePlanner to the first 50 visitors to stand 106. In addition, Travel InfoSystems will be holding a prize draw for all those who leave their business cards at stand 106. Prizes will include a magnum of champagne.
