London 21st May 2002: elata, the innovative wireless software specialist today announced the appointment of Virgin Group IT Services Director, Gareth Lewis, as a Non-Executive Director of the company.
As a Non-Executive Director at elata, Gareth will bring significant telecoms knowledge to the management team and support elata in its quest to enable mobile service providers to deliver next generation wireless data services.
Gareth brings with him extensive experience in the telecoms sector. He was recently appointed as Group IT Services Director at Virgin Group where he is responsible for the strategic alignment of IT within the organisation. Prior to this, Gareth held the position of Global Programme Director of Mobile Business with the Virgin Group where he was responsible for driving the development of new Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), whilst ensuring synergy across existing operations.

Gareth joins elata’s other Non Executive Director, Mark Farmer, who is well known in the industry for his work with several successful Telecoms software businesses including Cramer Systems and Metrica.
