Magic reveals at Internet World its customers’ top five tips for developing successful ebusiness applications

Bracknell, UK. (06 June, 2002) – Magic Software Enterprises UK, a leading provider of state-of-the-art application development technology and business solutions, reveals its top five tips for building successful ebusiness applications at this year’s Internet World Show (11th – 13th June, Earls Court, Stand 1319). Andy Peart, head of marketing at Magic UK will be talking on the stand about the necessity of effective application development tools. His claims are substantiated by comments from Magic’s customers, which include Menzies World Cargo and Nintendo.

Andy Peart comments, “A few years ago, web site development meant creating a few HTML files and simple CGI scripts to enable Web Servers to interact dynamically with users. Today, the explosion of activity in Internet commerce has driven the requirements for more complex e-business strategies and organisations are demanding more from their web-based activities everyday. To rapidly build, a successful Interactive Web Application in a dynamic environment it is essential for organisations to choose the right development and deployment tools from the outset.”

Research carried out by Magic shows that its customers cite return on investment, integration capabilities, migration ability, speed of development and the protection of legacy systems as key requisites for a successful ebusiness application development and implementation. Many of Magic’s customers have said that Magic’s proven ability to provide all five is the reason they chose Magic as their preferred development tool.

Des Vertannes, Managing Director of Menzies World Cargo “We needed a system that would enable us to more effectively manage and control all aspects of our various air cargo operations, including the ability to absorb the additional tracking and administrative overhead we anticipate related to tightened security measures. Because of Magic eCargo’s inherent flexibility and integration capabilities, we are able to protect our existing investments in complementary systems and get the new system up and running quickly. In addition, Magic eCargo will allow us to streamline every business process to achieve even greater levels of customer satisfaction and profitability.”

Janet Moltmaker, Managing Director for DNP Contact Centre “Magic eContact eliminates the need for costly programming and provides a fast learning curve for new contact centre agents. It also includes an implementation process that is among the shortest and simplest in the industry, rich functionality, easy integration with existing applications, and the ability to rapidly respond to market changes.”

Thomas Staudinger, Application Supervisor, Nintendo of Europe GmbH "We were particularly impressed with the productivity levels and speed of development, which could be achieved in Magic eDeveloper."

Akihiko Matsuo, IS Manager, Nintendo of Europe GmbH "We selected Magic eDeveloper because its open and scalable technology will allow us to offer business services and seamlessly collaborate online with our customers.”

John Marsh, Operations Director of United Utilities Networks “We wanted to build a business gateway that will allow our customers to access our existing systems and retrieve detailed information on quotations for specific projects. We selected Magic Software after a detailed evaluation of players in the market because of their proven track record and methodology for delivering eBusiness solutions.”
