EUROPEAN BUSINESSES AND GOVERNMENTS TO JOIN FORCES AT LEADING SECURITY CONFERENCE
Paris Chosen As The Venue For Europe’s Most Influential Gathering of IT Security Politicians and Professionals
June 06 2002 – EEMA, a non-profit European association for the furtherance of electronic business, has announced that ISSE 2002 (Information Security Solutions Europe), the independent European security conference and exhibition will be held at Disneyland Paris from 2nd to 4th October. Boasting more industry leading speakers than ever before, it will provide a valuable insight into the concerns of and solutions open to European businesses in this increasingly volatile climate.
Now in its forth year, ISSE 2002 will be split into four distinct tracks so that delegates can choose to learn about the security issues of most importance to their organisation. The Technical Stream, Infrastructure Stream, Applications Stream, and Legal and Political Issues each concentrate on a different concern of European businesses today. Last year, ISSE attracted more than 800 participants from over 30 countries.
ISSE is an initiative of the European Commission Directorate-General Information Society, and is owned by EEMA, and supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. A highly respected programme committee made up of over 20 IT security experts from companies such as DaimlerChrysler, BMW and Ernst & Young puts the conference programme together, under the direction of TeleTrusT (non-profit association for the promotion of Trusted Information and Communication Technology).
“Since its launch in 1999, ISSE has become the key meeting place for Europe’s IT security elite – bringing together Governments, vendors and end users to debate and discuss the trends and policies that give the European market its unique place in the world stage,” explained managing director, EEMA, Clynt Stubbs.
“At this year’s event there will be over 60 presentations and panel discussions,” he continued . “As a user-orientated conference, special focus will be given to case studies, best practice and real experience with information security.”
ISSE 2001 in London attracted Government ministers, European commissioners and legal and security experts from such luminaries as Deutsche Telekom, Siemens AG and Tivoli.
