Home Media Networks Announces Version 1.7 Of Award Winning Software Covers All Areas Of Home Entertainment With Addition of Jukebox Facility
June 11th 2002 – Home Media Networks Ltd, developer of network-capable home entertainment software today announced that the latest version of ShowShifter will include multi-segment AVI support, full screen information overlays, ‘background mode’, Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) support and a
much anticipated jukebox function to encompass all entertainment mediums to be found in the home.
ShowShifter allows the user to watch, record and time-shift (pause) TV, play DVD videos and listen to CDs and MP3 music files all through one interface. The jukebox capability allows full MP3 playback and the creation of customised playlists. A new media database dynamically detects music files being added to a hard drive, and ShowShifter will display the album cover and relevant details of the tracks from the ID3 tags, and supports visualisation technologies to display graphics and images whilst the MP3s are playing.
ShowShifter Version 1.7 also boasts the inclusion of multi-segment AVI (Audio Video Interleaved) file support with audio syncronisation correction to allow full support for the increasingly popular DIVX, a background mode so that it can be minimised whilst other programmes are used, support for world-wide EPGs and full screen PVR style information overlays.
“The enhancements in the latest version of ShowShifter are in line with our vision of where the home entertainment market is going,” comments Home Media Networks CEO, John Croft. “ShowShifter revolutionises the way people watch TV, videos and DVDs, listen to music and communicate all through an easy-to-use interface on a platform that they are familiar with – the home PC.”
