Clarent Corporation, a leading provider of IPsoftswitch and enterprise voice and data convergence solutions for next generation networks, today announced that iTopia, a global telecommunications service provider and distributor, has been named the exclusive Master Distributor in ten Southeast Asian countries for Clarent's NT-based Integrated Softswitch solution. Effective April 1, 2002, the Master
Distributor agreement provides regional distributors and service providers in this area with a local source for Clarent's broadly deployed Integrated Softswitch solution, which includes Clarent Command Centre(tm) software licenses and media gateways.

According to the terms of the agreement, iTopia will continue to offer complete turnkey solutions and system integration for end customers while collaborating with local distributors to promote and support Clarent products. The Master Distributor agreement enables regional distributors to leverage the technical and business expertise iTopia has gained through multiple years of experience helping service providers deploy IP-based networks in Asia and Europe. Distributors working with iTopia will have access to a variety of contacts and established relationships, and can reduce overall time to market by taking advantage of iTopia's facilities to streamline the deployment process.

As the exclusive Master Distributor in Southeast Asia for Clarent's Integrated Softswitch solution, iTopia is committed to providing 24 x 7 Level 1 and Level 2 technical support and on-site resources. The agreement between iTopia and Clarent includes sales targets of 0,000 in the second quarter of 2002, million in the third quarter, and .5 million each following quarter.

iTopia is also an authorised regional distributor of Clarent's Distributed Softswitch solutions, and relies exclusively on Clarent software and equipment to provide a global Clearinghouse supporting retail service providers.
