LONDON, 17.06.02: The Stibo Group, market leaders in cross-media product and catalogue content management, has been selected by Screwfix Direct, the Kingfisher Group-owned direct mail/e-commerce business servicing the building trade to help it to drive sales and increase competitive advantage. Faced with significant growth, and an increasingly multi-channel customer base, Stibo's STEP software will help Screwfix Direct to manage a range of on and off-line product catalogues from a single data source.

Screwfix Direct conducted an enterprise-wide systems and process review which identified the key business systems which needed to be reinforced in order to ensure continued growth and provide improved product information to customers. It concluded that developing a way of increasing the flexibility and quality of publishing product information to both internal and external systems is an essential part of growing the business.

Stibo's market-leading solution draws on a 200-year experience of the print and information technology industries, and provides its customers with the capability to meet the challenge of both print and e-based media. Stibo's selection followed an intensive competitive pitch process.

Web sales through the http://www.Screwfix.com e-marketplace have grown dramatically in recent years to become one of the largest corporate e-marketplaces on the Internet, managing almost 6,000 different product lines. With Stibo's solution, Screwfix Direct will be able to manage an increasing range and volume of documents over a variety of catalogues.

In addition to providing greater flexibility and control, Stibo's solutions offers greatly improved time to market, by reducing the time spent on existing DTP and pre-press processes. Stibo's STEP system can also provide customers with the capability to auto-paginate sales collateral and develop true multi-lingual and multi-media documentation from a single data source.

Stibo has extensive experience of enabling e-commerce strategies for some of the leading global retail and wholesale businesses, including Newark Electronics and Rockwell Automation, transforming their existing paper-based document management systems to meet the challenges of Internet and e-commerce publishing. Having been at the leading edge of the information technology industry for many years, Stibo has led the way that businesses manage both product data and the development of sales catalogues and marketing literature for a growing number of channels.

Graham Benson, Information Services Director at Screwfix says, 'Information management is driving our business to achieve increasing levels of customer service by ensuring that our customers have access to relevant product information. Quality information, and the ease with which it can be accessed, is one of a number of key drivers that will ensure continued growth, and competitive advantage.'

'We have selected Stibo's data management and single source publishing solution as one element of an IS Strategy that will allow Screwfix Direct to continue to provide a peerless customer proposition."

Stibo's Sales Manager, Mike Palmer says, 'Screwfix Direct has enjoyed massive growth over recent years and has identified a number of key business systems that require refinement and improvement. We are delighted that the Stibo Group will be a key element of these systems managing all of Screwfix Direct's product information for publishing both to external print and web and internal warehouse, and call centre applications.'

'Our two centuries of experience in information technology, data management and publishing allows Stibo to provide market leading end-to-end content management and cross-media publishing solutions that integrate with traditional paper-based sales and marketing strategies.'
