Ideal Enterprise Solutions Storage Solution Centre demonstrates the single largest concentration of storage networking technologies at Networks Telecom 2002

- Demonstrations of current and future storage networking technologies

-On-hand expertise offering independent advice from Ideal Enterprise Solutions and the Fibre Channel Industry Association-Europe (FCIA-E)

-Products from ADIC, BMC, Cisco, CA, EMC, HP and others,

In a unique collaboration with the world's leading storage specialists Ideal Enterprise Solutions will demonstrate the latest developments in storage technology at Networks Telecom Europe 2002 at Birmingham's NEC.

Ideal Enterprise Solutions, the independent provider of enterprise storage and infrastructure solutions for VARs, resellers and systems integrators, will demonstrate technologies from the world's largest (and some of the not so large) suppliers in an open, vendor neutral environment at the Ideal Storage Solution Centre.

"A year ago we could only show connectivity across SAN components they were only capable of 'talking' to one another," said Ian Lockhart, strategic projects manager at Ideal Enterprise Solutions and head of the Infrastructure Design Practice. "The progression over the past 12 months has been such that we can now use a more solutions-based approach to show what these products can actually do demonstrating real-life scenarios in an open environment."

The Storage Solution Centre features the two latest technologies entering the storage market - iSCSI and Fibre Channel over IP Solutions.

Manufacturers participating at the Ideal Storage Solution Centre include ADIC, BMC Software, Cisco, Compaq, Computer Associates, EMC, Hewlett Packard, Legato, Overland Data SAN Valley and Sony.

Solutions on display will include data replication, clustering and high availability, DAS to SAN storage migration, storage management solutions incorporating SAN management tools, disaster recovery and virtualisation (see below).

In addition, free advice from board members of the Fibre Channel Industry Association Europe(FCIA-E) will be on hand in the centre¡¦s storage advice bureau. FCIA Europe is a self-funding, non-profit, pan-European body set up to promote Fibre Channel technology.

Data Replication. This feature will allow users to see a live demonstration of a server failing over to a replicated storage resource, thus maintaining access to data in the event of a site failure.

Clustering

This feature will show two servers working in parallel to each other sharing a common storage resource in the SAN. Users will be able to automatically fail over the applications and users from one server to the other. This demonstration will show how in the event of a server failure, users are still able to continue accessing data and applications

DAS to SAN Migration. This demonstration will show how users can take existing Direct Attach Storage discs raid sets and move these disc arrays into a SAN environment with ease, and maintaining the original data integrity.

SAN Management. Users will be able to try a variety of leading storage management tools & Appliances from leading manufacturers and ISV's.

Virtualisation solutions will be demonstrated, where users can pool a storage resource and allocate storage on demand to servers attached to the SAN.

Disaster Recovery. The demonstration suite will allow users to backup servers across the SAN & LAN to centralised LibrarIdeal Enterprise Solutions attached to the SAN. Features such as LAN Free backup, Snapshots & various high end tape technologies and Mailbox restores will be demonstrated.

Fibre Channel over IP & iSCS

The latest technologies to enter the storage arena will be available for demonstration showing the benefits of being able to utilise Gigabit Ethernet as a storage transport connecting remote and campus sites at high speed.
