GeoSolutions 2002, incorporating GIS 2002, the AGI 2002 Conference and GeoSolutions Forums

London, June 18, 2002. The AGI 2002 Conference, held in conjunction with GIS 2002 at GeoSolutions 2002, is promoting the current and future uses of geographic information (GI) in the public and private sectors. Delegates to the conference will have the opportunity to build partnerships and share information with industry experts from both sectors. The AGI 2002 Conference will run alongside GeoSolutions 2002 from 17-19 September 2002 at Earls Court 2, London.

-This years conference focuses on the benefits and issues around building partnerships and sharing information, commented John Glover, AGI Conference Committee Chair. The conference programme brings together many seniors speakers from both industry and government to provide delegates with the information they require to further exploit existing or planned investment in GI. The final plenary session will be a conference highlight, Emma Howard from the BBC will put questions to a panel of VIP's from both the public and private sectors. In addition to the conference, interactive case study led workshops will run providing delegates with the opportunity to hear and discuss real experiences in a more intimate environment.

The workshops will cover topics including; local land and property gazetteers, creating a user specification for digital imagery, best practice in sharing information, OS large scale data: Landline tiles to MasterMap Database and OS positional accuracy improvement: Costs and benefits to users.
