...Latest Report from IDC Shows Hyperion Continues to Lead Financial Analysis and Business Performance Management Market...

EGHAM, England, July 02, 2002 – A new IDC report, “Worldwide Financial/Business Performance Management Software Forecast and Analysis, 2002-2006,” shows that Hyperion (Nasdaq: HYSL) is the worldwide market share leader for financial and business performance management analytic applications. In fact, the IDC report shows Hyperion with a market share of 21 percent in a market that grew by 7.4% from 2000 to 2001.

During this same period, Hyperion introduced a number of web-based solutions that enabled organisations to easily scale applications across the enterprise, bringing improved capabilities for goal-setting, modelling, planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting to a greater number of people. This complete solution for business performance management empowers decision-makers with critical performance data to more effectively and efficiently drive corporate profit.

Customer lists are steadily growing for Hyperion’s two leading web-based, enterprisewide applications, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Financial Management. These applications, along with applications such as Hyperion Business Modeling and Hyperion Performance Scorecard, are elements of Hyperion’s comprehensive Business Performance Management Suite.

IDC also recently named Hyperion as the number one provider of multi-dimensional analysis/OLAP tools, based on worldwide 2001 software license and maintenance revenues, according to the latest report published in June 2002. Hyperion’s business intelligence platform, Hyperion Essbase XTD, is based on this market-leading technology.

Many companies are realising the benefits that they can gain by moving from a ‘point solution,’ departmental process to an enterprisewide methodology of managing performance, supported by a unified business intelligence platform.

“With the current economic climate and increasing scrutiny of financial reports, our customers are demanding the solutions that deliver an in-depth view of the entire organisation,” said Nazhin Zarghamee, chief marketing officer at Hyperion. “In addition, they want to be able to use that visibility to map objectives to operational performance and to continually improve efficiencies and profits. These are the key factors we see driving customer demand business performance management solutions across the enterprise.”
