Steve Sussman to Direct Latest Service Offering for Moai Customers and Partners

London, July 3, 2002. Moai Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of technology-enabled sourcing solutions, today launched a comprehensive strategic sourcing consulting practice that will enable customers to better target their sourcing initiatives, and partners to better leverage the success of their relationships. To lead this practice, Moai has appointed Steve N. Sussman to the new position of director of sales, consulting practice.

“Moai’s sourcing consulting practice will enable our customers to realize both immediate and long-term costs savings through a more effective and comprehensive e-sourcing process,” said Ramesh Mehta, CEO of Moai Technologies, Inc. “The sourcing consulting practice offers companies a full range of solutions to effectively guide them through the analysis, implementation and maintenance of a successful e-sourcing strategy.”

The sourcing consulting practice will enable new Moai customers to achieve measurable benefits, even if they are unfamiliar with e-sourcing processes.

The practice will work with new and existing Moai customers to develop a comprehensive, complete e-sourcing strategy. Moai’s consulting practice will address rapid opportunity assessments, spend analysis, development of commodity-focused sourcing processes/strategies, development of supplier databases, change management, education and strategic sourcing program maintenance. When in place, these processes can reduce direct and indirect operating expenses by up to 35%.

In parallel to the benefits for customers, Moai will work closely with its partners to increase the value of their existing strategic relationships. “We have developed our sourcing consulting practice to allow maximum benefit for both Moai and our partners,” said Mehta. “The practice will allow us to provide better services to partners, because we will have a clearer understanding of the best processes for both parties. This in turn will add to the value for our customers.”

In his new role of overseeing the sourcing consulting practice, Sussman brings to Moai more than 20 years of experience in strategic sourcing, spend analysis and procurement. His expertise encompasses numerous areas, such as strategic sourcing solution leadership; visioning and development of integrated sourcing business plans; business process re-engineering and change management; supplier program and relationship management; and conceptualisation, planning and implementation of integrated strategic sourcing and SRM programs.

Previously, Sussman was a senior manager/director at KPMG Consulting; founder and president of Strategic Resource, Inc.; and vice president, consulting for Schacher, Greentree, Inc.

Sussman looks forward to making an immediate contribution to Moai. “I was impressed with the aggressive, visionary approach at Moai,” Sussman said. “I look forward to making a significant contribution to the company, as I believe Moai is taking the next step in the evolution of e-sourcing with the innovation evident in its sourcing consulting practice and development of a complete e-sourcing suite. The practice combines the best of the full-service e-sourcing model with the best of the self-service e-sourcing model, allowing us to provide a comprehensive, yet flexible, array of services and technology.”

Along with implementing and developing the sourcing consulting practice, Sussman will conduct seminars and other educational programs to raise awareness of the benefits of e-sourcing.
