Leading Sports Photography Agency To Increase B2C Business With New Marketing Initiatives
London; July 17th: Probe Media, one of the UK’s leading permission based marketing specialists, has signed a new business contract with Allsport to manage and exploit its database of consumer contacts. Allsport, specialists in supplying sporting photography to national media, is keen to develop its web-based B2C sales of popular and famous sporting images. Allsport is part of Getty Images, the largest international provider of visual content to a diverse range of professional users, including advertising and design agencies; magazine, newspaper, broadcasting and production companies; and new media publishers
Probe will develop, manage and market to a database of consumer contacts created via the company’s e-commerce consumer website where members of the public can browse libraries of famous sporting photos and buy prints on-line.
“Allsport has always had interest from consumers wanting to buy photographs they have seen in the media,” explains Don Pawley, Managing Director of Probe Media. “It launched its Allsport Gallery website to allow consumers to search for images of particular sportsmen and buy them in a variety of sizes. This has been working successfully, bringing in modest incomes. Probe has been appointed to build, manage and exploit an Allsport marketing database of website visitors to increase revenue and drive and repeat traffic to the website.”
Everyone visiting the Allsport website will be encouraged to join a mailing list. They will receive communications, mostly personalised HTML emails, telling them about competitions, offers and Allsport news. The aim is to build interest and loyalty and encourage repeat purchases. This initiative has been designed to dramatically increase the lifetime value of each customer to Allsport.
“Allsport has made a serious commitment to developing the consumer-side of its business,” said Marc Webbon, Market Development Manager at Allsport. “We recognise the value of capturing information on who visits our e-commerce website. Probe Media has a great deal of experience in creating and managing databases and we’re confident of substantially increasing our B2C revenues.”
Continues Pawley, “As well as contact details, we will request marketing information such as what sports visitors to the site are interested in, which clubs/countries, etc. This data will be used to accurately target prospects at the most appropriate time. For example, the day after a Grand Prix, all Formula 1 fans could receive an email featuring dramatic shots from the race, all for sale.”
Probe will also look to encourage new visitors to the Allsport Gallery website through viral email campaigns and by accessing relevant databases on behalf of the client.
“The Allsport Gallery proposition is very strong,” concludes Pawley. “It sells the worlds best sports photographs at reasonable prices. Probe will ensure the website and the product get the best possible exposure.”
