New Technology Chosen by NTL to Automate Broadband Qualification, Self-Installation and ISP Selection

To help broadband service providers address the evolving challenges associated with broadband activation and service delivery, BroadJump, Inc., today introduced a new software solution, BroadJump ControlWorks™ Activation Edition. Based on the company’s experience activating more than five million high-speed Internet connections, BroadJump is delivering a technology solution to solve today’s most complex broadband installation challenges. BroadJump also announced today that NTL has selected ControlWorks Activation Edition.

NTL, the UK’s largest broadband company, has selected ControlWorks Activation Edition to enable a variety of installation scenarios from qualification and self-installation to multiple ISP selection. To allow consumers to automatically choose an ISP, ControlWorks Activation Edition will give NTL the ability to implement installation scenarios for each ISP on their network directly from BroadJump’s ControlWorks server. By implementing this process, the company can send a single installation CD to its customers regardless of their ISP choice. Changes to an ISP installation process can be easily administered by loading them onto the ControlWorks server, eliminating the need to produce and mail new installation CD’s to consumers. As a result, NTL will be able to reduce costs associated with CD duplication, inventory, support, deployment and distribution while improving customer satisfaction.

Composed of pre-built and pre-configured applications, ControlWorks Activation Edition enables service providers to implement processes and technology that address today’s activation challenges including regional network differences, multiple ISP selection, home networking installation, ISP network conversion and self-activation/auto-provisioning. Through distributed and automated workflows, ControlWorks Activation Edition lowers costs, reduces process complexity and increases subscriber acquisition rates while decreasing churn.
