London, 22 July 2002 - Monactive, the leading software asset management (SAM) provider and a charter member of the Citrix Business Alliance™ (CBA), today announces a new release of its flagship product, dxPRO that is compatible with Citrix® MetaFrame® software. The major enhancement to dxPRO 4.2 for Citrix MetaFrame is the ability to work in a server-based computing environment.

“Companies are increasingly demanding to have their applications made available through multiple access options,” said Garry Olah, Citrix director of business development programs. “Monactive has extended the reach of its software asset management solution by offering access anytime, on any device or connection through the use of Citrix server-based computing. The combination of dxPRO and Citrix will help provide a deployment and management solution that delivers bandwidth efficiency, flexible access and efficient, centralized administration.”

Up until now, dxPRO’s intelligent agents have scanned all software applications on company desktops and laptops and delivered usage information to a central console located on the server, giving a continuous, eagle-eye view of all software activity in an organisation.

The latest version is also able to monitor all software applications running in a Citrix environment, making it ideal for organisations with a heterogeneous client environment and those transitioning to applications delivered by Citrix.

dxPRO provides companies with a central system for license management of desktop and server-delivered software, enabling them to optimise infrastructure costs and support.

Ian Dunn, Monactive’s Technical Director commented: “Monactive is leading the way in SAM developments; we are increasingly looking to improve our offering, and maintain dxPRO’s position as the top SAM tool on the market.”

Monactive has over 200 customers in the UK including Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, Orange, McDonald Corp., Bromsgrove District Council and Bedfordshire Police. dxPRO is the first SAM tool to integrate usage, inventory and contractual information, enabling better management of licences, legal compliance and greater cost saving. It is used by a range of business sectors, including finance, local government and public sector, telecoms, industrial and education.

The dxPRO 4.2 for Citrix MetaFrame product will be available for purchase from July 29th 2002
