IT consultancy and software developer bucks the TMT trend to post record growth
1E, the leading IT consultancy and software specialist, is celebrating a record year by entering the coveted Sunday Times ARM Tech Track 100 of Britain’s fastest-growing technology companies in terms of sales.
Started with a £500 contribution from each of its three founders, 1E has increased sales 66% a year reaching a turnover of £1.5m in 2001.
1E designs and implements IT solutions for medium-sized businesses and major blue-chips across the UK, including British Airways and UBS. The company is Microsoft’s chosen partner for specialist Windows consultancy projects.
1E also develops and manages the UK’s most advanced ‘Power Management’ software, enabling companies to switch off PCs and conduct overnight software upgrades automatically. 1E’s ‘Power Management’ software helps companies cut electricity costs and CO2 emissions dramatically.
Sumir Karayi, CEO and co-founder of 1E, attributes its success to a focused strategy: “IT consultancy is such a broad field, companies can end up being ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. 1E has taken the alternative route, majoring on our Windows specialism in both consultancy and software development.”
“The result for our customers is highly experienced consultants, excellent technical knowledge and the fastest implementation times. For 1E, this strategy translates into a successful, fast-growing business that is on course to record a turnover of £2.4m in 2002. Inclusion in the Tech Track 100 table is great recognition for the skill and dedication of the whole team at 1E.”
Fast Track, which prepares the Sunday Times ARM Tech Track 100 table, is an independent research company that analyses the UK’s most dynamic, unquoted businesses. The table was published on September 29th 2002.
