Munich, Germany, (October 14, 2002) - KaVaDo Inc., the technology leader in Web application protection, has partnered with Heilbronn-based information security consultancy cirosec to bring its unique, proven security technology into the German market.

Announced on the first day of the Systems 2002 exhibition in Munich, the newly-signed reseller agreement teams KaVaDo's innovative Web application protection technology with cirosec's more than 40 years of combined experience in securing corporate IT systems. Together the two companies will target a fast-growing market of German enterprises that are leveraging the benefits of online applications.

“While companies may have traditional security measures like firewalls and IDSs in place, the majority of them are not taking the proper steps to protect their Web applications,” said cirosec's managing director Stefan Strobel. “These applications often allow direct access by hackers to back-end databases, servers and other critical infrastructure, circumventing typical perimeter security.”

cirosec currently uses KaVaDo's vulnerability scanner, ScanDo, to expose potential weaknesses in the Web application environments of clients. Strobel says that, without exception, every company Web site tested has had multiple vulnerabilities. “Many people we speak to are aware of application security risks, but they are always surprised to learn how extensive those risks are when we show them ScanDo’s vulnerability assessment reports.”

He said that of the handful of solutions available, InterDo is clearly the most advanced and the most innovative. It is also the only one to secure emerging application technologies such as WebServices, the burgeoning architecture that speeds up e-business by automating many otherwise manual processes.

“As awareness of the Web application security problem builds, successful companies have to implement solutions like the ones we are providing with KaVaDo. Otherwise, they risk significant losses to their enterprise networks.”

Welcoming the partnership, KaVaDo CEO Tal Gilat said cirosec's expertise and track record with large companies including banks, manufacturers and publishers, made it a natural partner for KaVaDo.

“As we continue to expand our market presence in Europe we are careful to only build relationships with companies that can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the challenges of deploying secure Web applications,” said Gilat. “cirosec has clearly demonstrated this understanding, and its people, all of them senior consultants, are doing much to advance information technology in Germany. We are confident that cirosec will be a valuable partner and a strong contributor to our global sales efforts,” he said.

cirosec is demonstrating KaVaDo's solutions in booth 100-419, hall B1, at the Systems 2002 exhibition. The company is also giving a series of presentations underscoring the security risks of Web applications, and how they can be resolved.
