NEC Computers (UK) launches the Express5800/120Rc-1 and Express5800/120Re-2

RRP From: £1,439

NEC Computers (UK) has announced two new additions to its award winning range of Express5800 servers. The 120Rc-1 and 120Re-2 are two ultra slim 1U and 2U rack-dense dual-Intel Xeon servers designed to meet the requirements of service providers and space-conscious computing workgroups.

“These two new NEC rack-dense servers are comprehensive solutions for rapidly expanding companies,” commented Paul Evans, business development director of NEC Computers (UK). “With their advanced architectures and versatile designs, the 120Rc-1 and 120Re-2 provide increased levels of performance and expandability and highlight NEC’s drive towards providing unique solutions for our continuously growing client base.”

For optimal power and I/O throughput, the 120Rc-1 and 120Re-2 feature up to two Intel Xeon processors, (from 1.8GHz up to 2.8GHz/512KB) two integrated Ultra 160 SCSI controllers and two PCI-X expansion slots. These new servers run on a high-speed 400MHz Front Side Bus and include two integrated Gigabit Ethernet controllers, three 1” internal hot-swap disk bays (up to 219GB) and several external disk subsystem options providing flexible network and storage configurations.

The NEC Express5800/120Re-2 is based on the latest Intel E7500 chipset and offers exceptional internal storage with a maximum of 7 hot-swap disk drives, (up to 512GB), hot-swap power supplies and redundant fans to meet the demands of the most critical departmental situations. Both servers support up to 6GB of 2-way interleaved DDR200 memory with Chip kill technology and offer tool-free access to the chassis for easy maintenance and upgrade.

As standard the Express5800/120Rc-1 and 120Re-2 ship with the ESMPRO Management Suite with integrated Management Workstation Application (MWA). This built-in solution provides remote emergency access and control of server resources (via LAN or standard modem connection). The ESMPRO Management Suite facilitates quick response to critical issues and provides tools for proactive planning and server administration, reducing the risk of downtime or failure. The ExpressBuilder set-up and configuration software also comes with both of these servers for easy and comprehensive system installation.
