London, December 11th, 2002 - Intec Telecom Systems today announced that Tennessee-based United Telephone Company has become its first customer to license all of Intec’s North American flagship products: Inter-mediatE™, a real-time convergent mediation platform; Inter-activatE™, a flow-through service activation solution; and InterconnecT™ CABS CG, a carrier accessing billing solution.

United will upgrade its existing mediation system to accommodate its expected 80 percent growth over the next seven years and to gain tighter control of the records being processed. Inter-mediatE will collect Extended Bellcore AMA Format (EBAF) and Call Detail Records (CDRs) from the network, and then validate, filter, and check the data for errors. The platform will then guide the AMA Structure Code and Call Code variations that require transformation into EMI (Exchange Message Interface) records for output to downstream system that include Intec’s InterconnecT CABS CG billing system.
By implementing Inter-activatE, United can automatically provision services and special features including long distance, Voice Mail, Caller ID, Call Waiting and Three-way Calling more efficiently. Inter-activatE will also free United’s switch technicians to perform more mission critical tasks which will improve their operational efficiencies.
