Shutter motorisation and control specialist Elero advise that grilles and shutters that are impractical to use defeat their intended purpose. This was not the case with a new Hindu Community Centre for the Jain Samaj community in Longsight, Manchester. Here effective closure and protection are built in using motors and controls from Elero to drive 27 high quality window and door shutters for fast, reliable and convenient deployment.

Architect for the development, Amar Egan, worked closely with the main contractor HRL Construction of Tameside to select shutters that compliment the building. They decided on a system from AMO Security Roller Systems of Heckmondwike. Strong shutters, finished in brown gloss, provide high grade protection. The compact but powerful Elero motors are located out of sight within the roller core.

The shutters are used to control glare in daytime. Securing the building is made easy by Elero motorisation that gives effortless and reliable shutter deployment at the flick of a switch. There are no gaps in protection. Motors and controls are covered by company's comprehensive five year guarantee.

The development provides mixed use community and leisure facilities. There are meeting rooms, a hall with stage, dining room, kitchen and a temple. The centre will be a focus for community activities.
