Surrey-based Vodat Solutions has selected billing specialists Aurora UK to manage the company’s converged billing across its IP, voice, mobile, video and unified messaging services. The company is one of many in the UK to take advantage of Aurora’s outsourced billing service aimed at the new breed of IP, mobile and virtual service providers, and will enable Vodat to provide customers with unified electronic bill presentment for multiple converged services without the costs of deploying a full-scale, internally managed billing solution.

With the growing demand for its IP services it was becoming increasingly difficult for Vodat to manage the complex billing of its multiple services with its existing system. The company evaluated a number of solutions providers, specifically looking for a solution that would give its customers a quality billing service together with online access to up-to-date usage and management information for analysis via the Internet.

To provide the service Aurora will remotely collect Vodat’s billing data from the company’s IP servers and automatically load it into a dedicated billing system at the company’s management centre in Chatham, Kent. Vodat’s service staff will be able to access this system via the Internet to enter and amend customer details, pricing information and add new services. Aurora’s solution calculates and presents a single unified monthly bill for all subscribed services. Statements are despatched both as paper bills and made available online to Vodat’s customers via a secure Customer Log-In Section on Vodat’s Web site Also included within the service is access to Aurora’s specialist billing expertise and back-up support.
