Just two years after it opened, security and shading motor specialist, Elero UK has exceeded £2 million turnover and is on target to double again over the next two years. The company supplies motors and controls for security shutters, awnings and blinds to trade fabricators throughout the UK. Their systems are in use on many prestige developments including the Lowry Designer Outlet Village and the Eden Project.

Directors, Paul Connor and Andy Perry, started the business in a modest industrial unit in Runcorn with one helper. They now have a staff of 12 working from newly built premises in Halebank. Paul explained, "In October 2000 we hit the ground running, putting in a lot of hours to meet as many new customers as possible, convince them we had the right products and make sure we could meet our delivery promises. In those days Andy and I did everything from taking the order through picking, packing and shipping to chasing the final invoice."

The hard work has paid off, but the urge to succeed continues. Early in February Paul and Andy are off to a major triannual trade fair in Stuttgart. As Andy Perry commented, "The security and shading business never stops innovating and so we are off to see what new technologies are available from our suppliers in Europe."
