London, 08 January 2003 - Mobile Virtual Network Operator United Mobile,
based in Liechtenstein will implement PrivaCom's SIM Controlled Calling
solution. Founded in 2001, United Mobile provides a number of prepaid
services for business customers and consumers that travel regularly. The
SCC solution developed by PrivaCom will enable United Mobile to offer
the same service to customers anywhere in the world for which United
Mobile defines the tariffs itself. PrivaCom has a worldwide patent on
this advanced technology. SCC was awarded 'Best GSM Technical
Innovation' by the GSM Association. The jury selected SCC because of the
huge possibilities it offers for the business and consumer GSM market.

SIM Controlled Calling aims at the growing market for roaming. The SCC
solution enables a roaming call to be initiated by the home network. SCC
offers operators full control of the service they provide to customers.
It can be used on any operator's GSM network, providing a roaming
agreement has been signed and can be used additionally to protocols such

United Mobile is the first mobile operator to implement SCC in its
network. According to Rob Snijder at United Mobile the SCC solution
meets the demands of the operator. "Our vision is based on the concept
that every mobile caller should have access to high-quality services
anywhere and anyplace. SCC will enable us to offer a consistent access

Nils Kijkuit, CEO at PrivaCom, emphasises that the SCC solution was
created following developments worldwide in the mobile market, where the
operators search for ways to increase the Average Revenue per User
(ARPU). "SCC enables operators to face this challenge. SCC offers them
the possibility to provide their prepaid customers with easy access to
familiar services in foreign countries. This will increase the ARPU.
Moreover, this will also lead to higher customer satisfaction and
