Radware, the leading provider of intelligent application switching (IAS), ensuring availability, performance and integrity of network applications across the enterprise and data centre, has appointed Steve Edge as technical director of its UK and northern European operations.
Edge, who has held senior consulting and technical positions at a string of networking companies, is charged with developing a portfolio of networked solutions aimed specifically at the finance, retail and telecom sectors in the UK and northern Europe. He comes to Radware from Nexsi Systems and previously handled customer management and network design for Foundry Networks, FORE Systems, Bay Networks and Wellfleet Communications.
Radware is mounting an aggressive customer acquisition drive in 2003 as it seeks to grow its UK revenues substantially.
“Radware’s intelligent technology is ideal for organizations – enterprises and data centers alike – that want guarantees that their networks will always support their most critical applications,” said Edge. “We are head-to-head with Nortel, Cisco and F5 Networks but benefit from being the only player focused solely on this market.”
Edge was selected by Radware because of his expertise in managing teams through the design and deployment of substantial enterprise network infrastructures for blue-chip companies. His challenges at Radware include introducing a tailored solutions portfolio for customers and managing major network deployments.
“Steve has designed and overseen some of the most cutting-edge corporate networks in Europe during his time with several leading equipment vendors,” said Dominic Byrne, regional director, northern Europe, Radware. “We plan to use this expertise to create Radware solutions that are matched not only to specific market needs, but to customers’ specific application uptime and network capacity requirements.”
