LONDON, UK. February 7th, 2003 –Hyperion (Nasdaq: HYSL), the global leader in business performance management software, today announced that BNFL, a leader in the world nuclear energy industry, has expanded its investment in Hyperion technology, to provide even faster financial consolidation and management reporting cycles for an organisation now covering two business groups in 16 countries.

According to Craig Stirk, project manager at BNFL: “Today, we operate in 16 countries and employ more than 23,000 people serving both private and public sectors. With a complex and geographically diverse organisational structure, the speed and accuracy of our financial and management reporting is paramount. We also needed something that would be flexible enough to take account of future changes to our management and financial reporting requirements. Expanding our investment in Hyperion business performance management software was the ideal solution for our needs.”

According to Mike Shelton, Managing Director for Hyperion UK and Ireland: “BNFL is a complex global organisation that has a constant need to improve the speed and quality of its financial and management reporting ina rapidly changing environment. This is a good example of how Hyperion’s business performance management software can quickly adapt to changes in organisation structures resulting from reorganisations, acquisitions, and divestitures. Hyperion’s software has the ability to track changing organisation structures over time, thus enabling BNFL to monitor the effects of these reorganisations and model future changes with ease. Hyperion also allows BNFL to handle the detailed line of business information required for management reporting purposes while also meeting complex statutory and management reporting requirements.
