KaVaDo, the technology leader in Web application protection whose European headquarters is in London, today announced the release of ScanDo 2.0, the latest version of its Web application vulnerability scanner. Among the primary new enhancements, KaVaDo has developed broader support for emerging technologies like WebServices, data storing and sharing capabilities, and a number of new timesaving features.

To allow security administrators to easily scan their Web applications, ScanDo 2.0 features assessment profiles, which allow users to quickly set assessment definitions and minimize the amount of adjustments needed for future scans. Additionally, users can set scans to occur automatically at regular intervals, including after business hours, using the ScanDo 2.0 Scheduler feature.

ScanDo 2.0 also offers various data storing options for both mobile and individual users, as well as to enterprise users and security groups. These new data storing options give auditors a reliable and scalable solution to handle large application environments.

“We designed ScanDo 2.0 to meet the requirements of companies that utilize Web applications of any size. ScanDo uses actual Web hacking techniques to provide the most thorough security assessment available of Web applications. Additionally, it offers details on each vulnerability and access to technical resources to help users fix any potential problems,” explained Yuval Ben-Itzhak, CTO and co-founder of KaVaDo.

One of the most important features of ScanDo 2.0 is its support for KaVaDo’s unique, patent-pending AutoPolicy technology. With this product integration, ScanDo explores the entire application environment and can automatically create an optimized, positive security policy for KaVaDo’s Web application firewall, InterDo™. Users benefit from the customized protection created based on the unique structure of each Web application. This new technology offers a significant complement to the state-of-the-art learning technology already available in the InterDo product.

“AutoPolicy enables administrators to quickly and easily establish a high level of security for their Web application environments. The combination of our scanner and firewall products offers customers a major benefit that they cannot get elsewhere,” continued Ben-Itzhak.

"KaVaDo has earned a great reputation for very precise and reliable security products," said James Spooner, managing director of UK Web application security consultancy LODOGA. "The new ScanDo impresses us with its variety of new features, enhanced speed and support for WebServices and SOAP environments. ScanDo 2.0 is going to play a key role for us as we continue to grow our Web application security practice."
