Cash-U reports more than 200% revenue growth after signing more customers in 2002 and enlarging traffic figures within existing customers

London, February 18th: Cash-U Mobile Technologies had another excellent year in 2002 signing contracts with several new customers, including mmO2, LG Telecom and Westel, and further establishing its presence in Europe and Asia. Cash-U’s gaming platform is now exposed to more than 100 million mobile subscribers in Asia and Europe.

During 2002, Cash-U also demonstrated its commitment to developing cutting-edge products with the release of Pecan Provisioning. Based on the proven technology of its Pecan Gaming platform, Pecan Provisioning provides operators with the ability to manage and deliver rich media content such as ring tones, icons and games through a single provisioning system and in numerous media formats (Nokia Smart Messaging, MMS and Java). Pecan Games and Pecan Provisioning are a part of Cash-U’s Pecan Entertainment, which is an end-to-end solution for the creation, management and delivery of rich multimedia content as well as single or multi-user interactive games and applications.

Although the mobile entertainment market is still in its infancy, Cash-U has firmly established itself as the leading mobile entertainment platform provider with core competencies in enabling interactive mobile games (with community and tournament features such as hall of fame) and simplifying content provisioning.

Cash-U has also brought the largest catalogue of mobile games to market. Pecan Content, a catalogue of entertainment services aggregated from Cash-U’s 3rd party community of developers, includes branded content as well as unique multi-user J2ME games.

Further achievements include the establishment of a London headquarters and the recruitment of Graham Thomas, as VP strategic content and marketing, from Nokia where he founded and headed up the mobile games division. In addition, Cash-U recently announced it was the first to incorporate the Mobile Games Interoperability Forum’s v1.0 specifications for mobile entertainment. Cash-U’s commitment to establishing industry standards, as well as its expertise and experience in the mobile entertainment industry, was further demonstrated by the Mobile Entertainment Forum’s decision to invite Rann Smorodinsky, co-founder of Cash-U, to be chairperson.

“It has been an extremely encouraging year,” comments Amir Peleg, CEO at Cash-U. “Our continued expansion across Europe and Asia, as well as our continued commitment to developing best of breed technologies puts Cash-U in an excellent position as the mobile entertainment industry continues to take-off.”
