That's the simple message from awning motorisation specialist, Elero. They are reminding builders and developers that awnings, especially when motorised and fitted with suitable controls, add value and distinction to a property. "An awning is a valuable addition to any home and an additional selling point. It will protect people, furnishings and create comfortable shade," explained Elero managing director Paul Connor. "More than this they bridge the gap between home and garden, and add colour, and dynamic interest."

Awning use can be fully automated with sun and wind sensors to deploy and retract shading in response to changing conditions. Elero lead the field with this technology, offering a wire free, solar powered sun and wind sensor that communicates with the awning motor by radio. This eliminates the need for power and control cabling to the unit so that installation time and disturbance are reduced.

Elero's concealed tubular motors with radio control are easy to install. These can be linked to other radio controlled devices that include wall switches, hand held remotes and timers. Designed and built by Elero in Germany their motors and control systems have a five year guarantee and class leading reliability.

Elero themselves do not manufacture awnings. "Modern awnings use high tech, long life, low maintenance fabrics that are produced in many colours and designs to suit different tastes and styles of home. This is a highly individual purchase, so we as a motor supplier work with specialist trade fabricators. We are always happy to recommend suitable suppliers and installers," added Paul.
