London, February 12th 2003 – webstreaming.com today announced the launch of the upgraded Clari-net Dualstreamer, the world’s first ‘plug and play’ encoder, which strengthens and compliments their existing product portfolio.

Following developments, the DualStreamer is now able to encode at a higher quality bit rate allowing for encoding of the latest codecs. Enhancements to the video capture hardware to a modular system also make upgrades easier and allow for input variations. Finally, the control software has been improved for greater ease of use and to reflect the hardware changes.

The DualStreamer can encode two independent video and audio channels at the same time, allowing streaming in different formats. The DualStreamer can also be remote-controlled and operated as part of an overall corporate ‘black-box’ solution or available as standalone units for broadcasters and production houses.

Originally developed by the Pro-Bel Division of the Chryon Corporation, and now wholly owned and manufactured by webstreaming.com, the Clari-net DualStreamer was the world’s first broadcast compliant webstreaming encoder.

Jon Pratchett, technical manager webstreaming.com said: ‘The inclusion of the Clari-net Dualstreamer into our existing streaming portfolio allows us to not only offer a complete end to end streaming solution but manufacture in-house the key component of quality webstreaming.
With the considerable development effort webstreaming.com will continue to put into this product, we can ensure the Clari-net Dualstreamer will continue to be at the forefront of streaming encoding.’
