Business Systems Group Ltd. (BSG) has secured UK distribution and support contract for Calvis Ltd’s Print·Path solution.
LONDON, 17 April 2003: Calvis Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of technology solutions to the real estate and legal sector, and pioneer of PISCES enabled solutions, today announced that it has awarded Business Systems Group (BSG) the first UK contract to supply, install and maintain Calvis’ Print·Path solution to businesses across the UK.
Print·Path is the first printer management tool to target the professional services sector, an area much ignored by print software providers. It replaces the complex macro set-ups often used by system administrators in an effort to combat paper waste and improve print efficiency, ensuring that new network printers and software updates can be added with the minimum of fuss.
The solution is currently installed at a number of leading law firms across the UK, including Tarlo Lyons and Charles Russell. The contract will extend the scope of the product from Calvis’ specialist areas of legal and real estate into new markets by leveraging BSG’s position as a provider of IT products and services to businesses across the UK, which currently includes Renault, Merrill Lynch and Amnesty International.
Under the terms of the contract, which is being spearheaded by BSG’s Head of Sales Mike Nelson and Calvis’ Mark Gray, BSG will manage customer sales and implementations of Print·Path as well as offering helpdesk and second line on-site support. Product development continues to be provided by the solution’s author, Calvis’ Scott Hews and 3rd line support will be delivered by Calvis’ support team.
Mike Nelson, BSG said: “We are delighted to be adding Print·Path to our portfolio of products and services. The solution meets a genuine market need and is a valuable addition to our infrastructure services portfolio, which includes 24x7 operational support provision.
Nelson continued: “Print·Path is ideally placed to form the keystone of a strategic print strategy and will be offered as an integral part of a fully managed and supported print environment.”
Mark Gray, Chief Operations Officer, Calvis said: “Our research has shown a demand for a solution such as Print·Path beyond our specialist sectors of Legal and Real Estate. BSG are recognised as one of the leading providers of technology solutions in the UK and have built a strong reputation across the Financial Services, Healthcare, Publishing and Retail sectors, all of which we have identified as growth sectors for Print·Path.”
