Protection for gardeners and DIY enthusiasts when using portable electrical equipment such as mowers and power tools is a critical issue. To address this need, Rowe Hankins Components, the sole UK importer of Chint power protection products, have introduced a new double-gang RCD safety socket.

Tested to British Standards 7288:1990 and 1363:1995, the unit has a rated voltage of 220 to 250V at 50Hz. Units will trip in 40mS with a current differential between live and neutral as low as 30mA. Test and reset buttons are provided on the face of the socket with a white/red indicator to show set or tripped status.

The double-gang safety socket is easy to wire and install and comes with complete fitting instructions. Installation is a simple procedure with the unit fitting into a standard housing as a direct replacement for a normal two-gang socket. Units can be surface mounted where housings have a depth of 25 mm or greater. All sockets are boxed for protection and are individually tested before they leave the factory

National distribution is through mainstream electrical wholesalers including CEF, C&S Distributors, Range Electrical and Unilec Supply.

The RCD socket is just one of a family of electrical components from Chint, manufactured to world-class standards and imported exclusively by Rowe Hankins. All Chint products deliver high performance and reliability with competitive pricing.
