Representing a major new development in the field of colour management, Fuji Hunt Digital Solutions has introduced two new colour management packages which give digital photographers, laboratories, studios and bureaux affordable, easy-to-use and reliable solutions they can trust for accurate and reliable colour in their digital workflows.

Created by GretagMacbeth, the new Eye-One Display and Eye-One Photo packages provide streamlined new colour management solutions which enable all professionals involved in digital imaging to concentrate on their creative processes rather than spending computer time tweaking their images for colour accuracy and reliability.

EyeOne Display

The new EyeOne Display package lets any creative professional calibrate and profile their computer monitors quickly, reliably and, above all, inexpensively. This enables them to see the colours they expected and make reliable decisions about colour based on what they see on screen.

The Eye-One Display package includes a new, compact colour-measuring device which users can quickly and easily attach to any CRT, TFT or LCD display monitor, along with Eye-One Match 2.0 colour management software. It requires no additional mounting hardware and is extremely easy to use.

This newest version of the Eye-One Match software gives users a choice to work in either easy or advanced operating modes, providing virtually one-step progressions for beginners to use while allowing custom settings for more advanced users.

EyeOne Display is supplied with a voucher for €200 (£139) redeemable against an upgrade to EyeOne Photo – and purchasers get to keep the EyeOne Display unit!

EyeOne Photo

In the integrated digital workflows which characterise today's state of the art photography, high image quality is dependent on resolution, colour, and illumination, The new Eye-One Photo package gives photographers a sophisticated tool with which they can manage both colour and light.

EyeOne Photo’s professional, unobtrusive user interface will enable photographers to add substantial value to their designs by achieving colour consistency from the shooting scene to their monitor and beyond to all commercial output media.

The Eye-One Photo package includes the award-winning Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer, mounting hardware for CRT and LCD monitors, Eye-One Match v2.0 software and Eye-One Share 1.3 freeware. An optional compact carrying case allows photographers to easily pack the portable Eye-One Pro device for use at photo shoots – in studio or on location.

EyeOne Photo will profile any RGB printer, including digital minilabs, laser printers, Fuji Pictrography and all inkjet printers in standard driver mode. There is also a simple upgrade option to profile scanners.

The Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer incorporates new ambient light capture and measurement capabilities which enable photographers to work with ambient lighting and to take it into account in their workflow.

The ambient light head allows users in photographic or print production workflows to evaluate how lighting in other settings will affect their work, and to verify the colour temperature of light booths or working environments. It will also enable them to determine when the light source in a light booth needs to be changed or when the unit needs to be serviced.

EyeOne Match 2.0 software

Enhancements to EyeOne Match 2.0 software bundled with the new EyeOne packages include:

A new graphical user interface which has been redesigned for even greater simplicity.

New history section for quick identification of where you are in each step of the process.

Easy to follow on-screen help guides – no extra manuals are needed.

A unique ‘Easy’ mode for users new to colour management or who do not have the time or the need to develop customised settings. With predefined settings and automated processes for monitor profiling, minimal user interaction is required, so beginners can achieve reliable, consistent results immediately.

An ‘Advanced’ mode which gives experienced users access to customised settings for the best possible result.

A ‘native white point’ option so the user can leave the white point of the monitor as is, thereby allowing for a fully dynamic range of colour.

The automatic detection of RGB or CMYK printers and the ability to print test charts directly without launching a separate program when building printer profiles.

An improved chart cropping features in the scanner module.

EyeOne Match software can be easily upgraded by purchasing an access code; there is no need to reinstall or learn new software. Full upgrade program details are available at www.i1colour.com.

The new Eye-One product line will begin shipping in May in versions compatible with Macintosh Classic, OS X and Windows 2000 and XP platforms. The price of the EyeOne Display package is £206.50; the EyeOne Photo is £1,238.50 (both plus VAT).
