Callserve, Europe's leading Internet telephony company, announced today that the i3 micro technology Vood(TM) Terminal Adaptor, VTA(TM) 111, has been selected as a non-PC based solution for use over a Broadband connection with its award winning Internet Telephony service.

London-based Callserve, and i3 micro technology, the Swedish datacom company that develops and markets products for IP-TV, video streaming and Voice over IP (VoIP), announced that i3's one-port Vood Terminal Adaptor, VTA111, has qualified for the Callserve SIP network and is globally available through resellers.

The VTA111 is specifically targeted towards Internet Telephony Service Providers that want to offer high quality Internet Telephony services where people make calls using an ordinary analogue phone. The VTA111 includes a rich set of features, from supplementary services to new innovative features enabled by a user friendly web interface, like click-to-dial, call lists and the unique Unified Voice Mail, UVM(TM), feature. With its award winning design, it fits into any home. The VTA111 is part of the Vood(TM) (Voice-Options-On-Demand) product family, which consists of Terminal Adaptors, Residential Gateways and management systems.

Callserve, founded in 1999, is the first European Internet Telephone provider and one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK. Callserve's London headquarters hosts the telecommunications infrastructure that allows hundreds of thousands of customers around the world to make low cost telephone calls through the Internet. The service is highly regarded for its superb quality, low call rates and ease of use.

The VTA111 will be used by Callserve for providing high quality Internet Telephony services for broadband users who can now use an ordinary analogue phone to make low cost international calls over the Internet and do not have to rely on a PC.

"Callserve has identified a large market potential for hardware based Internet Telephony with the increased penetration of broadband to residential users," according to Michael Frisby, Callserve's business development director. "The i3 micro product was chosen after a thorough evaluation of several alternatives and it was chosen based on the high quality, competitive price, high performance and rich feature set," he added. He also said that Callserve was impressed with the i3 micro's capabilities and flexibility to make the integration with the Callserve service simple for users.

"We are excited to be partnering with Callserve on increasing the solutions available to businesses and consumers alike to reduce their international telephony costs, particularly as we see Broadband rollout across Europe and other parts of the world," said Peter Galyas, i3 product area manager, IP Telephony. "Callserve is a global leader in the provision of Internet Telephony and together our solution delivers the very highest call quality and the lowest rates for Internet Telephony," he added.
