Web application security vendor KaVaDo and UK IT security services specialist DNS have forged an alliance to counter the growing threat of direct attacks on Web server applications.
Edinburgh-based DNS last year uncovered security flaws in a startling 100% of all deployed Web applications it tested on behalf of third parties. Now the company has chosen KaVaDo's Web application scanner, ScanDo, and Web application firewall, InterDo, to help secure its customers' Web sites.
"We are often asked to assess already-deployed Web applications and last year every Internet-facing application we tested had vulnerabilities, making it a potentially easy target for hackers," said DNS managing director Graeme Cox.
"In many cases it's too time consuming and expensive to re-write or patch every application. Here KaVaDo's ScanDo is very good at highlighting the weaknesses while InterDo is an excellent and highly cost effective mechanism for protecting against those and future vulnerabilities."
DNS is the latest European organisation to join KaVaDo's global alliance programme. Specialising in the financial services, public service and telecommunications sectors, and with a second base in London, DNS also focuses on the emerging WebServices market for which InterDo includes a specific protection module. KaVaDo's technology is already in use at over 100 customer sites.
Welcoming the partnership, KaVaDo's VP Sales, EMEA Ofir Hatsor, said DNS' reputation and track record made it a natural partner.
"As we continue to build our presence throughout Europe we are partnering with companies that genuinely understand the challenges of securing Web applications and WebServices. DNS' specialist programmers and consultants are doing much to advance Web security in the UK and we look forward to the company being a strong ally as we ramp up our global sales efforts," he said.
