London, 29th April 2003: big:group has been awarded the £1m+ contract to deliver an 12-month integrated marketing campaign for Parents Online - the web-based initiative of the Department for Education and Skills (DFES). The objective of Parents Online is to increase parents’ awareness of the educational benefits of the internet and inform them about online safety.
Four divisions of the big:group will be involved in the project: big:interactive, big:media; big:pr and big:production. The project will involve redesigning the website which has been listed as one of the “Top 4 Family Websites” in The Sunday Times. In addition, a 38-week, national advertising campaign will be used to encourage schools to get involved. These marketing initiatives will be supported by a national and regional PR strategy.
“More than 600 new Parents Online events were held across the UK last year, ranging from yoga classes to children's Internet breakfasts and cyber sessions. We want to build on that success and the big:group’s involvement is pivotal to us achieving our objectives”.
