A new range of heavy-duty industrial door motors has been launched by Elero. The MG Series flange-mounted motor is ideal for use with spring assisted roller doors in factories, warehouses and transport depots. All models offer exceptional levels of safety and usability.
There are five models in the range. The smallest model is the MGS, a single-phase unit with a respectable torque of 70 Nm. Three phase units are available at 90 Nm and 120 Nm, either with or without a built in starter. All models have high-level haul chains in case of a power failure.
There are many key safety and security features. A plug-in card allows programming to stop and reverse closure if an obstacle is detected. Units can be set to require continuous switch pressure (dead man operation) so that the user must watch closure. A safety interlock is provided for manual operation. Photocell connections detect persons or obstructions near the shutter and will stop closure if there is a danger. For security and energy conservation, units are easily programmed for automatic closure at 30 seconds after opening.
The Elero MG Series is quick and easy to install. Motors can be supplied pre wired with six metres of cable and with plug-in connectors. Units can have inboard mounting brackets if required. Control circuitry operates at 24 volts.
“We began shipping the new units in April and interest from the trade has been outstanding,” explained Elero technical director Andy Perry. Elero have built a substantial inventory to meet demand and can call on additional supplies from the German factory if required.
