LONDON, UK – 30 May, 2003 – Mencap, the UK's leading learning disability charity, has purchased technology solutions from Hyperion, (Nasdaq: HYSL) a global leader in business performance management software, to enhance its financial planning, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.

According to Vivienne Fraser, MIS Manager at Mencap: “We had been using a manual spreadsheet based approach for budgeting, forecasting and reporting. However, we needed a much faster turnaround time for reports as well as a technology solution that would support our planning and forecasting processes long term. We chose Hyperion Planning because we felt very confident that this solution could be implemented in a very tight timescale. Its functionality is extremely comprehensive and, because it is fully Web enabled, our end users will have a familiar interface with which to become immediately productive. Perhaps most importantly, our investment in Hyperion will allow us to reduce the time spent on the budget process and devote more resources to helping provide even greater support for people with a learning disability.”

The initial implementation will see around 60 users with financial and management remits taking advantage of the application. The long terms plan is to roll out the application to a broader community of financial and non-financial personnel.
