Noscito locates first service site at TeleCity's Docklands facilities
London 3 June 2003 - TeleCity plc (TCY.L), the award winning
pan-European colocation and data centre services company, today
announced that Noscito, a new provider of IT infrastructure, application
and network monitoring services, will locate its first European service
site at the TeleCity facilities in London's Docklands.
Noscito is launching a series of pay-as-you-go solutions which offer
customers the ability to monitor the quality of service of their IT and
web based infrastructure remotely. Based on leading BMC technology,
Noscito can offer customers sophisticated solutions without any of the
initial investment and ongoing running costs involved in purchasing and
maintaining their own monitoring systems. Customers are simply charged
a monthly usage fee with no up front payments or long-term commitment
"To stay ahead of the competition, businesses IT environments must be
constantly available," said Paul Kershaw, co-founder of Noscito. "Slow
response times and system failures can seriously impact business
operations and damage end-user perceptions. Our solutions can help to
minimise potential downtime and ensure the fast and precise resolution
"TeleCity was the ideal place from which to launch our services in
Europe," continues Kershaw. "Their facilities are well connected, well
managed and offer excellent opportunities in terms of the diverse and
increasing range of customers present."
"Noscito offer an effective and intelligent solution for businesses
looking for high-quality, cost-efficient network and application
monitoring," said Graham Brooks, Commercial Manager at TeleCity. "IT
directors can now combine an improved, cost-efficient outsourced
datacentre environment for their hardware with the ability to control
their own infrastructure remotely. In the process they gain overall
business advantages of combining their own in house skills with
resources, tools and expertise from outside."
In addition to Noscito offering services as a stand-alone provider,
TeleCity will be using Noscito's platform to offer monitoring services
to its UK customers.
"TeleCity's relationship with Noscito is typical of the new approach we
are taking in the provision of managed services," said Brooks. "Rather
than invest in hardware platforms, software and the development of
in-house service management expertise, TeleCity is now developing
relationships with partners who can offer best-of-breed service
provision. This way we minimise cost to our business while maximising
service options to customers."
Noscito sourced all of the hardware commissioned for their new platform
through TeleCity's supplier relationship with Fujitsu Services. This
relationship enables TeleCity's existing and future customers to
purchase hardware and software solutions such as access devices,
storage, servers and network equipment, directly through Fujitsu taking
advantage of Fujitsu's expertise in the sourcing, commissioning and
ongoing management of IT systems.
Noscito is a server, networking and applications monitoring provider to
service providers and corporate organisations. Through its server and
transaction monitoring services customers can monitor all aspects of
their IT infrastructure ensuring Quality of Service. Based on BMC
technology the company offers all of its services securely over the
internet on a usage-based billing service.
